Element: 3.7 Plan and implement learning experiences that require students to appropriately use technology to meet lesson objectives

Date: Fall 2011

Reflection: During our PED 434 project we used heart rate monitors and pedometers to track the students time in the target heart rate zone and their step count through our unit of handball. Our goal was to have all the students be in their target heart rate zone for at least 2 minutes by the post test and be in the range of 600 to 800 steps by the post test. We believed and made our goal that 100% of the students will increase their time in the target heart zone and increased their step count from the pre test in the beginning of the unit to their post test in the end of their unit. We ran into problems due to multiple factors such as technology problems or missing students in the post test. We found the majority of the students each increased in both areas or stayed the same.
